MERSEYRAIL has contacted our Newsroom following the news coverage of strike action, involving public transport companies within the national media.
A spokesperson for Merseyrail has said they want to reassure all those using Merseyrail services that they are not affected by planned industrial action by Aslef.
James Connor, Corporate Communications Manager for Merseyrail said:- "We understand strike action can be frustrating and confusing for our passengers. Often, Merseyrail is not involved in any strikes, however other operating companies that strike can impact the services that we provide. We will keep this page updated so you can quickly find out the information you need to help plan your journey."
Train Operating Companies in the UK who will be affected by industrial action and dates are as follows:-

- Tuesday, 30 January 2024 - Gatwick Express, Great Northern, South Western Railway (including Island Line), Southeastern, Southern and Thameslink.
- Wednesday, 31 January 2024 - Northern and TransPennine Express.
- Friday, 2 February 2024 - c2c, Greater Anglia (including Stansted Express) and LNER.
- Saturday, 3 February 2024 - Avanti West Coast, London Northwestern Railway and West Midlands Railway.
- Monday, 5 February 2024 - Chiltern Railways, CrossCountry and Great Western Railway.
