MERSEYSIDE Police Officers have arrested 2 males following the discovery of suspected drugs and ammunition in Southport, on:- Thursday, 28 December 2023.

At around:- 4.05pm, Officers from the Force were on patrol when they noticed a man acting suspiciously on Leyland Road, Southport.

Following a stop search the Police Officers found several wraps of suspected class A drugs, crack cocaine, and heroin.

A warrant was executed, at the address, where a small amount of cannabis, long with 2 wraps of white substance were also found.

The search also discovered more items consistent of drug supply along with 4 bullets that appeared live and a firing cap.

2 males, aged 38 years, were also arrested on suspicion of possessing a class A and B drugs with intent to supply and possession of ammunition without a certificate.

Both suspects have since been released on conditional bail.

Inspector Ted Barr said:- "We will not tolerate drugs and weapons which cause fear and harm, and we will take action to make our communities a safer place to live. I would urge anyone who has any information about who is supplying or selling drugs in their area to contact us so we can take action."
