SOUTHPORT'S MP Patrick Hurley has issued a statement following the recent announcement about the historic Aviary, which is located within the Botanic Gardens, in Churchtown, Merseyside... This anouncement has really got local residents in a flap, as it is one of the few remaining unique free to visit attractions in the Southport area, and its of historic importance to the community within Churchtown.
Patrick's statment is as follows:- "The Botanic Gardens Aviary is a much loved part of our community, and following the recent announcement of its planned closure in March 2027, I want to make sure local people have a voice in what happens next.That's why I'm inviting residents to join me for a public meeting at the Botanic Gardens Café next Friday. It's an opportunity to hear the latest, share your views, and discuss what we can do together to support the future of the aviary.
