TODAY, 2 May 2024, on Merseyside, the area is holding both the Merseyside Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs) and the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority Mayoral Elections. Sefton, Halton and Knowsley areas are holding Local Elections. This year there are no local elections in:- Liverpool, Wirral and St Helens.
  • Polling Stations will be open from:- 7am to 10pm. You can only vote at your assigned Polling Station and you have to have ID.
     
  • Accepted forms of photo ID for voting at a Polling Station
You need to show 1 form of photographic ID to staff at the polling station on election day' (Thursday, 4 May 2023.)

You can use any of the following:-
  •  A passport.
     
  •  A driving licence; including a provisional license.
     
  •  A Blue Badge.
     
  •  An older person’s bus pass (it must state it is funded by the Government; a local travel pass cannot be used)
     
  •  A disabled person’s bus pass.
     
  •  An identity card with Proof of Age Standards Scheme (PASS) mark.
     
  •  A biometric immigration document.
     
  •  A defence identity card.
     
  •  Certain national identity cards.

If you are registered to vote, butyou  don't have your poll card, you can go to the Polling Station and give them your name and address.

Remember YOU CAN ONLY VOTE FOR ONE CANDIDATE using an X clearly within the box of your choice. DO NOT put any other marks or comments on the ballot paper.

How to vote:-
  • Local Elections, use the Salmon coloured Ballot Paper for:- Sefton and Knowsley.
     
  • Local Elections, use the Ivory coloured Ballot Paper in Halton.
     
  • The Ballot Paper for The Merseyside Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) is:- Green.
     
  • The Liverpool City Region Combined Authority Mayoral Elections he Ballot Paper is:- Yellow.
The Mayoral Candidates for the Liverpool City Region Elections are:-

  •  Jade Louise Marsden - Conservative.
     
  •  Rob McAllister Bell - LibDem.
     
  •  Steve Rotheram - Labour.
